Away nicely gun apprentice Mikaela Claridge had her settled mid field, one off the fence. Travelling sweetly she maintained that position until she entered the straight. Claridge eased her into the centre of the track and once clear, headed for home. Showing a withering turn of foot she quickly reeled in the run away leader and went on to win by .75 of a length.
A combination of inspired placement by Mick and Donna, enabling her to make the most of a light weight, and a flawless ride by Mikaela paid dividends and brought up her long awaited second victory. Although only her second win she had previously notched up eleven second placings.
This victory was vindication for her patient and loyal owners who admire her for her tenacity and never give in attitude. Congratulations to all connections.
