Prussia Island's Prodigious Echuca Performance.

Jul 23, 2013

Prussia Island returned to his best with a strong win in heat 6 of the Betfair Murray Mallee Winter Stayers Series over 1600m at Echuca on Monday.

He jumped reasonable well and settled mid field for most of the race. Half way down the straight jockey, Jarrod Todd, found an opening along the rails and Prussia Island, responding to his urgings, forged ahead of his rivals, to win by 1.8 lengths.

This old war horse tries every time he races, he doesn't have the brilliance of others but he leaves everything out on the track. He had a suspensory ligament operation and was out of racing for 54 weeks. It is only with the individual training programme devised  by Mick & Donna and the care and attention shown by them, that he has been able to continue racing competitively.

Congratulations to owners Norm and Pat Gaskin,Andrew Apps and Phil Cox. He has now won over $71,000 for connecions.
