Spine Schiller won the 1400m  Tomato Growers Association Maiden, from a fast finishing field, at Tatura on Saturday. He was quickly out of the barriers and settled one back from the leader. On approaching the turn Jarrod Fry asked him to accellerate and he quickly went to the lead. He held on in a thrilling finish that saw him win by .02 of a length.

Spine Schiller is by Artie Schiller out of Partywave and was purchased for a modest amount at the Inglis Yearling Sales in 2011.
