Jaffar returned to form with a thrilling win at Mildura yesterday. He jumped well and under the urgings of Dean Holland worked to the lead early, he maintained a solid pace and on rounding the home turn caught the other runners off the bit, he established a clear lead and held them at bay winning by a head. Dean praised Jaffars fighting effort considering he is still not completely race fit, he said that he will benefit from the run and should go on for an exciting prep.

Mick was full of praise for the care and attention shown by his partner, Donna, during Jaffars rehabilitation over the past few months. "She might spoil the horse a bit but it has certainly paid off" he said.

Congratulations to all connections. The patience shown during a long spell has been rewarded.

Jaffar is by Al Maher out of Palace Engagement, he joined the stable in August 2012 after being purchased for $14,500 at the August Thoroughbred Sales, he has now won $53,665 in prize money.
