Cisco & Dean: A formidable team.

Jul 18, 2015

Cisco Delago and Dean Holland proved to be a formidable combination again when they teamed up to win a $30,000, Showcase, 2008m race, at Donald on Thursday. This race was part of a meeting that was transferred from Ballarat to Donald and the field consisted of several strong chances.

Cisco jumped cleanly and was taken straight to the fence by Holland. He traveled mid field for most of the race and being on the fence was able to conserve energy. On entering the straight Holland attempted to ease him out looking for clear running but was held up for runs on at least two occasions. Holland persevered and finally an opening occurred. Cisco showed a good turn of foot, took the run and went away winning by a length easing up. It was a masterful display by Holland and everyone connected with the horse praised his ride.

Mick & Donna both believe that this was his best win to date. It is a testament to Mick & Donna's professionalism and patience in getting Cisco to the stage where at six years of age, rising seven, with hoof problems that need constant attention and after 47starts he is racing better than ever.

Congratulations must also go to his owners, Norm Gaskin, John Bennett, Bryan Milne, Keith Pelham, Bill McLean, Ross Morgan, Jack Bridges & Bob Bird. Their patience and belief in the horse and his trainers have seen them share in $102,635 in prize money.

Cisco will now attempt to win a heat in order to gain a start in the final of the Murray Mallee Stayers Series.
