Cranky Missus - Not anymore.
Jun 11, 2018
There were a few less cranky missuses after Cranky Missus’s stunning victory in the 1200m, Java Spice Thai, F&M maiden plate at Swan Hill on Friday.
Ridden a treat by gun apprentice Lucinda Doodt (claiming 2 kg.) she jumped Ok and settled back in 6th position on the fence, she was travelling nicely and on approaching the turn moved up into 4th position. On straightening Doodt tried to take a run on the fence but when that closed she edged out into clear air, under vigorous riding Crank Missus showed a good turn of foot on the soft 7 rated track,(clearly in the heavy range and was down graded after her race) reeled in the leaders and went on to win by 1.25 lengths.
Cranky Missus obviously loves a heavy track and this will be kept in mind for future races.
Cranky Missus has had her share of problems and it has taken Mick & Donna a few runs to sort her out, this win is testament to the care and attention shown to all horses under their control. A big thank you must also go to the dedicated team at Cornish Gaskin Racing for all their hard work.
Congratulations to all connections, your patience and loyalty has finally paid off.
To those who took the juicy odds and made a killing, congratulations, to those who didn’t, commiserations, especially the owner who only had $10 each way on her even though his missus implored him to have more, no wonder she was so cranky.
