Georgia’s Host Salutes At Wodonga.

Jun 18, 2018

Georgia’s Host lived up to expectations when she saluted at Wodong on Saturday in the Fillies 3 y.o. Albury Wodonga RV World,1200m maiden plate, on a heavy 10 track.

Jumping from barrier 4 she was quickly away, she copped a squeeze from the horses on either side but gun hoop Lee Smith was able to steady her and have her settle in fourth position, one off the rails. Approaching the 400m post he asked her to improve and showing a liking for the heavy going she quickly moved up to second position. Smith was quick to take advantage of an opening and moved up on the outside of the leader and on taking the lead Georgia’s Host went on to win, easing up,by half a length.

Mick and Donna identified early on that this filly had ability and this impressive win, on heavy ground after only her third start,  justifies their belief.

Congratulation to all connections may this win be the first of many.

A big thanks must also go to the team at Cornish Gaskin Racing for their expertise and dedication.
